According to a report from ESPN's Pete Thamel, former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Dylan Lonergan is set to reenter the NCAA transfer portal.
Lonergan, who will be a redshirt junior next fall, transferred from Alabama last offseason to Boston College where he enjoyed a breakout campaign with the Eagles, seeing time as a starter under head coach, as well as former Crimson Tide offensive coordinator, Bill O'Brien.
During the 2025 season, Lonergan saw action in 10 games at Boston College where the Alabama transfer completed 66.9% of passes for 2,025 yards and a 12:5 TD:INT ratio, while also rushing for another score. In his two seasons at Alabama, Lonergan completed 7-of-8 passes for 35 yards across his three games played in Tuscaloosa, rushing for 21 yards on two attempts as well.
Lonergan was originally a member of Alabama's 2023 recruiting class, rated as a four-star quarterback, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, out of Brookwood High School in Georgia. The former Alabama transfer was also considered the nation's No. 12 overall quarterback in that class.
Boston College quarterback Dylan Lonergan intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal, per a source. He's an Alabama transfer who won the starting job at Boston College in 2025. He threw for 2,025 and 12 touchdowns for the Eagles this season.
