The NCAA passed one landmark ruling Friday with the Protect College Sports Act. But another bombshell ruling can allow one Arizona State football star to make his college return. Star safety and All-Big 12 selection Myles Rowser could have one more Tempe run left.
College football insider for CBS Sports Matt Zenitz dropped the update on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.
“Former Arizona State star safety Myles Rowser is exploring a return to college football after tonight’s court ruling that at this point gives him another year of eligibility, his reps Priority Sports tells CBS Sports,” Zenitz said.

A Colorado judge granted injunction for Class of 2022 athletes to gain a fifth season, labeled a “five-for-five” rule. So now this rule presents a potential gamechanger here: Undrafted NFL players pivoting back to college.
Rowser is a ’22 grad out of Belleville High in Detroit, Michigan. He originally signed with Campbell University, but then landed at New Mexico State. He entered the College Football Transfer Portal in Dec. 2023. Eventually ASU head coach Kenny Dillingham and the Sun Devils took him in one month later.
Rowser emerged as a breakout defender for the 2024 Big 12 Conference champs and College Football Playoff representative. The 6-foot-1 defender totaled between 84 to 98 tackles in his two seasons with ASU. He also broke up seven passes in his two seasons with 99 solo tackles.
Rowser declared for the NFL Draft after ASU wrapped up an 8-5 season. He joined another Sun Devils star in wide receiver Jordyn Tyson in turning pro. But he never got drafted and got offered an invite to the Seattle Seahawks rookie camp.
