After four seasons in Death Valley, Cade Klubnik has officially closed the book on his college career.

The former Clemson quarterback announced Wednesday that he is declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft, sharing a heartfelt farewell message on social media after exhausting his eligibility. Klubnik, who spent three years as the Tigers’ starting quarterback, used the post to reflect on his journey, the people around him, and what Clemson meant to his development both on and off the field.

“Thank you for taking a 17-year-old kid who grew up 17 hours away in Austin, TX, and shaping me into the man I am today. Thank you for the hundreds of incredible relationships I’ve built and the thousands of unforgettable moments. Thank you for always believing in me and truly becoming my second home.

“Thank you to all my coaches for pushing me to be the best I can be – pushing me to be the best Cade Klubnik there is. Thank you for the years of encouragement and support that have helped get me to this point.

“Thank you to my teammates for being a group of brothers I’ve been able to lean on and grow with. Thank you for showing me what true grit and perseverance looks like.

“To my family and close friends, thank y’all for always loving me for who I am, not what I do. Thank you for the sacrifices you’ve made to help make my dream of playing college football come true.

“These past four years exceeded every expectation I had, and I’m excited for what’s next. It’s a true honor to say that I will be declaring for the NFL Draft.”

Klubnik leaves Clemson with one of the most productive quarterback careers in program history. Across 49 games from 2022–25, including 40 starts, he threw for 10,123 yards with 73 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. He also added 878 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on the ground.

The former five-star prospect finished with 11,001 yards of total offense, becoming just the fourth quarterback in school history to surpass the 11,000-yard mark. He departs as Clemson’s all-time leader in pass completions (916) and attempts (1,432), while also ranking third in passing yards and fourth in passing touchdowns, total touchdown responsibility, and total offense.

Klubnik posted a 26–14 record as a starter, finishing fifth all-time at Clemson in wins by a starting quarterback. He is one of only six Tiger quarterbacks since World War II to win at least 25 games and became the third player in program history to earn ACC Championship Game MVP honors twice.

After four years that reshaped Clemson’s quarterback room, Klubnik now turns his focus toward the next chapter of his football career.
