Former Colorado Buffaloes backup quarterback Ryan Staub is quickly becoming one of the more intriguing names in the transfer portal, with visits lined up with Ohio State, Kentucky and Cincinnati in the coming days.

The trio of stops highlights the level of interest Staub has generated among programs looking to add depth, competition and experience to their quarterback rooms.

Staub served as a reserve at Colorado under head coach Deion Sanders, backing up Shedeur Sanders, Kaidon Salter and Julian Lewis over his three seasons in Boulder.

Now in the portal and reportedly looking to start, Staub is drawing interest from three very different programs. Ohio State offers a chance to develop in one of college football's best programs and perhaps challenge five-star freshman Tavien St. Clair to be Julian Sayin's backup. However, the Buckeyes do not appear to be the best fit if Staub wants to start. Kentucky is another SEC program, but with the Wildcats adding Notre Dame's Kenny Minchey in the transfer portal, Staub would likely be a backup once again.

Cincinnati, on the other hand, gives Staub the best chance to become a starter after star quarterback Brendan Sorsby moved to Texas Tech this offseason. With the Bearcats also bringing in Georgia Southern transfer JC French IV, Staub and French would compete for the starting job in the spring.

All of Buff Nation should be excited to see Staub getting attention from multiple top programs as he continues his quest for regular playing time.
