There's a popular idea that rats and cockroaches would survive a nuclear bomb if one went off. That phrase needs an update. Rats, roaches, and former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly would survive.
Yes, we know! We know! Some of you are still bothered by post-traumatic stress disorder whenever he is mentioned. Frankly, we are too, but you have to hear this. One day after the tenth anniversary of his dismissal as Eagles head coach, another football program finds room to add him to its staff.
Chip Kelly will indeed join the Northwestern Wildcats as their offensive coordinator. Wow! They're going to be scary now!
Welcome to Northwestern, Chip Kelly!

After a decade, Chip Kelly's attempts to ruin the Eagles still cause uneasy thoughts.
He's a bad dream we'll never forget. He's a wound that has healed, but one that left a scar we'll carry forever. Sometimes, it felt like Kelly was a spy sent from the Dallas Cowboys, one who was here to ruin this organization from the inside out.
Here's what's funny about that. Many, Eagles fans included, have long dismissed theories and ideas that he's as good as he is sometimes given credit for being. The only person who probably doesn't know this is… Yep! You guessed it… Chip Kelly.
He traded LeSean McCoy for Kiko Alonso. He buried Howie Roseman in an equipment room. You could live for 200 more years. You may never see an Eagles head coach as bad as Kelly was (or one who was as bad as Rich Kotite).
So, after stints with the San Francisco 49ers, UCLA Bruins, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Las Vegas Raiders, Chip Kelly has landed yet another opportunity. Kelly is still being allowed to be a football coach.
At this point, we have to ask serious questions. Does he have something on somebody? Does he owe some favor? We can't for the life of us understand why he's employed and someone like Doug Pederson isn't.
