Former FSU defensive lineman signs with junior college

Former Florida State football defensive lineman Chris Carbin has found his new home. The former Seminole has signed with Blinn College, a junior college in Brenham, Texas.

Carbin was a member of FSU's 2026 recruiting class and signed with them in December. He was listed on the roster until July 24, when news broke that he was no longer with the team. FSU football confirmed that he was no longer part of the team but did not provide any further information.

The Powder Springs, Georgia native was previously committed to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He was ranked as the No. 731 overall player and No. 77 edge in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 74 player from Georgia.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder had a productive senior season for Hillgrove High School. He recorded 39 tackles, 12.0 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, two pass breakups, and forced a fumble in 12 games. He was one of 10 defensive linemen that FSU added to replenish its depth.

Blinn went 4-5 last season, losing their final five games of the season. Carbin will have a chance to earn immediate playing time for them after they allowed 29.8 points per game last season.
