Former Georgia running back scores touchdown in strong debut

Georgia Bulldogs transfer running back Roderick Robinson got off to a strong start to the 2026 college football season with the UAB Blazers. Robinson, who transferred to UAB this offseason, scored the Blazers' first touchdown of the season.

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound running back had 14 carries for 59 yards in UAB's 42-23 loss at Illinois. Robinson had an impressive hurdle and scored a 10-yard receiving touchdown near the end of the first half.

Robinson could put up big numbers at UAB if he stays healthy. The bruising back showed a lot of potential in 2023 at Georgia when he had 24 carries for 196 yards and two touchdowns.

Robinson is a junior with two years of eligibility left at UAB. He battled through several different injuries during his time at Georgia, but finished his UGA career with a high note when he scored a receiving touchdown in Georgia's 2025 SEC championship win over Alabama.

Robinson is a former four-star recruit from San Diego, California, with excellent size and strength. He finished 2025 with six carries for 22 yards and two receptions for 13 yards and a receiving touchdown.
