Former Iowa football quarterback Joe Labas declares for NFL draft

After spending the 2021-23 campaigns with Iowa football before transferring to Central Michigan for the past two seasons, former Hawkeyes quarterback Joe Labas officially declared for the 2026 NFL draft.
During his time in Iowa City, Labas competed for playing time behind then-starting quarterbacks Spencer Petras and Cade McNamara.
In his lone game played as a member of the Hawkeyes, Labas completed 14-of-24 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 11 yards on four attempts in the 21-0 win over Kentucky in the 2022 Music City Bowl.

In his two seasons with the Chippewas, Labas flourished, throwing for 2,968 yards and 20 touchdowns on 241-of-368 completions with 13 interceptions across 19 games played.
