Former Michigan QB Commit Peter Bourque Impressed by Georgia Bulldogs Visit

The Georgia Bulldogs have hit the recruiting trail hard after their Sugar Bowl loss to the Ole Miss Rebels. With two national championship titles since 2021, a big piece of head coach Kirby Smart‘s success has been recruiting.

Georgia’s 2027 cycle is already off to a strong start with five commitments, headlined by four-star running back Kemon Spell. However, they’ve yet to land a quarterback. That’s why Smart and his staff have their eyes on Peter Bourque out of Hingham, Massachusetts.

He’s emerged as one of the top quarterback prospects. Bourque was previously pledged to the Michigan Wolverines, but decommitted on Feb. 17 and has since garnered heavy interest.

He recently made his way to Athens for an unofficial visit with Georgia. Following his time on campus, Bourque spoke to Rivals’ Chad Simmons to recap the experience, sharing some high praise.

“This visit helped Georgia and they will be one of the few schools in the mix when it comes down to it for sure,” he said. “I was super impressed and I will be there again for sure. They will get an official visit and I hope to get back for a spring practice.”

Bourque would be an exciting addition for the Bulldogs. He’s a four-star recruit, the No. 7 quarterback and the No. 91 player in the nation, per Rivals Industry Rankings.

After throwing for 2,241 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior for the Tabor Academy, he was named the Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year. Bourque also rushed for 688 yards and 15 touchdowns.

While Georgia made a strong impression, the quarterback has a long list of options. He also holds offers from the Penn State Nittany Lions, Florida Gators, Oregon Ducks, Texas A&M Aggies and Ole Miss Rebels.
