During the 2025 recruiting cycle, it very much looked like Notre Dame would eventually flip Ohio State wide receiver commitment Jayvan Boggs.

While the Florida prospect would break off his commitment to the Buckeyes, he wouldn’t end up with the Irish, instead committing to Missouri then UCF and ultimately signing with in-state Florida State. Now after just a season in Tallahassee, Boggs will enter the transfer portal after battling through an injury. He played when he was healthy, and caught 9 receptions for 103-yards and a score.

It is inevitable that the two schools will be connected, as once again the need for Notre Dame to add a receiver through the portal looks like it is a necessity. Starters Malachi Fields and Will Pauling have used up their eligibility and while Jordan Faison and Jaden Greathouse will return, there’s plenty of questions below them on the depth chart.

It would make sense for Notre Dame to kick the tires with Boggs again, as there was a previous relationship there during his high school recruitment. Time will tell if the two are a match, but it will be interesting to see how this one plays out again.
