Nebraska football is closing in on Virginia transfer quarterback Daniel Kaelin. HuskerOnline’s Sean Callahan (subscription required) reported early on Saturday that Kaelin is expected to rejoin the program.
This would be a reunion of sorts. Kaelin was a three-star recruit in the class of 2024 and signed with Nebraska out of Bellevue West High School. He redshirted for the Huskers in 2024 and entered the transfer portal in January 2025.
The quarterback found a home with the Virginia Cavaliers. Kaelin threw for 339 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in 2025.
Should Kaelin return to Nebraska, he would join a quarterback room that now has UNLV transfer Anthony Colandrea and sophomore TJ Lateef. This certainly adds a new wrinkle in the quarterback room. It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out.
Former Nebraska & Bellevue West QB Daniel Kaelin is expected to rejoin the Huskers in 2026.
HuskerOnline confirmed Kaelin took an unofficial visit to Lincoln on Friday.
