A former Nebraska quarterback is now at a new home. Dylan Raiola revealed on Monday morning that he transferred to Oregon. The news comes just days after the Ducks suffered a massive 56-22 defeat to No. 1 Indiana in the CFP semifinal.
Despite the loss, Oregon remains one of the top teams in the nation, finishing the year 13-2 and winning two College Football Playoff games. Raiola joins a Ducks team known for developing quarterbacks. Its previous three all tallied over 3,500 passing yards and 30 touchdowns in their final seasons at Oregon.
The Ducks’ recent quarterback, Dante Moore, threw for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns and is projected to be a high NFL draft pick. Dillon Gabriel finished his final season with 3,857 yards and 30 touchdowns and was drafted 94th overall by the Cleveland Browns in last year’s draft. Bo Nix, meanwhile, went 12th overall to the Denver Broncos in the 2024 NFL draft after throwing for 4,508 yards and 45 touchdowns in his final season at Oregon.
Raiola arrives at Eugene following a rough end to his sophomore season. Through nine games, he threw for 2,000 yards and 18 touchdowns before suffering a broken fibula. Then, shortly after the regular season concluded, Raiola announced he was entering the portal.
Raiola left Nebraska after starting 22 consecutive games for the Huskers and helping the team reach back-to-back bowl games for the first time in over a decade. Through his 22 games, he threw for 4,819 yards and 31 touchdowns.
Nebraska is set to visit Eugene next season for its first-ever Big Ten clash with the Ducks. This adds to the already steep mountain of a schedule Nebraska’s got next season if Raiola earns the starting job.
Raiola holds two years of eligibility left. Nebraska's QB room, meanwhile, includes TJ Lateef, UNLV transfer Anthony Colandrea and Virginia transfer Daniel Kaelin.
