The transfer portal window closed on Friday night, but players that are in the portal are still able to sign with their new teams in the transfer market. The Oklahoma Sooners had a busy portal period of losing and adding players, and on Sunday, they saw a former player find his new home.

Former Oklahoma wide receiver Zion Kearney has committed to play for the Wisconsin Badgers out of the transfer portal. Kearney spent two years in Norman, after arriving at OU via the 2024 recruiting class. He played in five games as a sophomore in 2025, after playing in 11 games as a true freshman in 2024.

With the Sooners facing mounting wide receiver injuries in 2024, Kearney got extended playing time, but he caught just eight passes for 128 yards and a touchdown. He was a four-star prospect out of Hightower High School in Fresno, Texas.

Kearney will now head to Madison, where he’ll compete in the Big Ten with the Badgers. He is the latest Sooner to find a new portal home, and he leaves wide receivers Jakeb Snyder and Ivan Carreon, and defensive lineman Siolaa Lolohea as the only former Oklahoma players who are still searching for a landing spot in the portal.

The Sooners have added three wide receivers in the portal. Virginia transfer Trell Harris, Texas transfer Parker Livingstone, and Washington State transfer Mackenzie Alleyne will be the transfer newcomers in the room in 2026.
