Former Tennessee operations coordinator wins national title at Indiana

No. 1 seed Indiana (16-0) defeated No. 10 seed Miami (13-3), 27-21, in the College Football Playoff national championship game Monday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
A former member of Tennessee’s football staff, Blake Jackson, is director of football operations for the Hoosiers. He was hired by Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti on Jan. 10, 2024.
Jackson worked for the Vols from 2018-21 under head coaches Jeremy Pruitt and Josh Heupel. He served as an operations graduate assistant (2018-19) and football operations coordinator (2020-21). Tennessee appeared in the 2020 Gator Bowl and the 2021 Music City Bowl during Jackson’s tenure.
While with the Vols, Jackson assisted with all aspects of team travel, was a liaison between all departments of the program and helped with execution of team events, coaching clinics and camps.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management (2017) and received a master’s degree in sports management (2020) at Tennessee.
Following his tenure with the Vols, Jackson was director of football operations at Arkansas State from 2022-23 under former Tennessee head coach Butch Jones. Jones was the Vols’ head coach from 2013-17.
