Former Tennessee quarterback transfers to North Texas

Former Tennessee quarterback Tayven Jackson committed to North Texas after entering the NCAA transfer portal, according to Pete Nakos of On3.
He played at Tennessee in 2022 and appeared in three games. Jackson completed 3-of-4 passing attempts for 37 yards, while totaling 10 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.
He transferred to Indiana in 2023. The former Vol played for the Hoosiers from 2023-24 and appeared in 13 contests (six starts). He completed 101-of-165 passing attempts for 1,263 yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions at Indiana.
Jackson transferred from the Hoosiers to UCF in 2025. He appeared in 11 games, including 10 starts, for the Knights last season. Jackson completed 200-of-315 passing attempts for 2,151 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
He is from Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana. Jackson committed to Tennessee on April 28, 2021 and was part of the Vols’ 2022 signing class.
