Former Vol will return to Tennessee with Auburn

No. 17 Tennessee (3-1, 0-1 SEC) will host Auburn (3-1, 1-1 SEC) on Saturday in Week 5 at Neyland Stadium (3:30 p.m. EDT, ESPN).

Saturday's game will mark a return to Tennessee for Chas Nimrod, a senior wide receiver for the Tigers. He has recorded 22 receptions for 240 yards and two touchdowns in four games this season. Nimrod and Keshaun Singleton lead the Tigers in receptions. Singleton leads Auburn in receiving yards (268).

Nimrod played for the Vols from 2022-24 under head coach Josh Heupel. He was recruited by former Tennessee offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Alex Golesh, who is in his first season as Auburn's head coach. Nimrod played in 27 games at Tennessee, including six starts.

In 2024, he totaled 10 receptions for 121 yards. During the 2023 campaign, Nimrod recorded 19 receptions for 194 yards and one touchdown in 13 games, including five starts. He appeared in two games as a freshman in 2022.

In 2025, Nimrod played for Golesh at South Florida. He appeared in seven games, including six starts, recording 23 receptions for 466 yards and three touchdowns.
