Former Tennessee Volunteers running back Arian Foster’s favorite SEC football stadium is not the one that any UT fans will expect.
Former Tennessee Vols running back Arian Foster’s favorite away SEC stadium is not that one that any UT fan would expect it to be.
You’d probably expect Foster to name one of the iconic SEC stadiums such as Alabama’s Bryant-Denny or LSU’s Tiger Stadium. Maybe even Georgia’s Sanford Stadium.
But nope, Foster’s favorite SEC stadium is Kentucky’s Kroger Field.
“They (Kentucky) do have my favorite SEC stadium,” said Foster on the Macrodosing Pod this week. “I just love it. I think maybe it was the circumstances in which we played at Kentucky. The way it’s set up, like the aesthetics of it, the deep blue. I love blue, and so just the sea of blue with our white (jerseys), that pops.
“And we always had good games. That was our four overtime game to make it to the SEC Championship. Just the environment was crazy. I had never had a four overtime game before. It was insane. I don’t think I’ve ever had anything close to that.”
Foster went on to add that the loudest he never heard Neyland Stadium was Tennessee’s win against Florida in 2004 (when Foster was a true freshman).
“The loudest I’ve seen Tennessee was 2004 against Florida,” said Foster. “That s–t was crazy.”
Foster rushed for 118 yards and caught nine passes for 98 yards and a touchdown in Tennessee’s 52-50 overtime win in against Kentucky in Lexington in 2007.
In 2005 at Kentucky, Foster rushed for 114 yards and caught five passes for 44 yards.
If I performed that well on an opponent’s turf, it would probably be one of my favorite stadiums, too.
