Four Auburn players are receiving recognition from one of the top college football preseason magazines.

Athlon Sports has named linebacker Xavier Atkins, running back Jeremiah Cobb, cornerback Rayshawn Pleasant, and defensive lineman Cody Sigler to their Preseason All-SEC teams.

Both Atkins and Pleasant were named to the Athlon Sports All-SEC First Team. Atkins is going to find his name on a lot of lists before the start of the 2026 college football season. He was a big surprise last season for the Tigers and a key reason why the Auburn defense was successful. He led the team with 84 total tackles and nine sacks. For Pleasant, he showed what he was capable of last season as a defensive back and returner. He scored on a 98-yard kickoff return against Baylor in the season opener and intercepted two passes versus Arkansas.

Cobb lands on the third team after coming close to 1,000 yards last season. In his first season as the lead running back, Cobb rushed for 969 yards and five touchdowns. Cobb is one of the best players who was retained from last season's team. Auburn should have one of the best running games in the SEC with Cobb, along with newcomers Bryson Washington and Nykahi Davenport.

Sigler will look to take the success he had at Arkansas State and hopes it translates to Auburn and the SEC. For Arkansas State last season, Sigler had 35 tackles with seven tackles for loss and five sacks. He also has six pass deflections and one forced fumble.
