As the Longhorns look to add to their 2026 class, they are trying to flip LSU commit Brysten Martinez. On Wednesday, Texas moved one step closer to making that a reality, locking Martinez in for an official visit. The four-star prospect will be in Austin in the fall. He was on campus over the weekend for an unofficial visit.
While Martinez has been committed to LSU for a while the interest from Texas comes as no surprise. He is currently ranked as the 11th-best offensive lineman and the 114th-best player in his class by 247Sports. Due to his high ceiling, the East Ascension star has also received interest from Alabama, Florida, Central Arkansas, and Baylor.

During his high school career, the Los Angeles native has impressed scouts with his athleticism and ability to impact a game in multiple ways. That would be a welcome addition to a Longhorns team that is still looking to add to its offensive line next year. The next step for Steve Sarkisian and his staff will be to make Martinez an offer he can't refuse.
If Martinez were to commit to Texas, he would join one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. The Longhorns have already secured commitments from five-star recruits Dia Bell, Tyler Atkinson, and Jermaine Bishop. They will be joined by four-star recruits Richard Wesley, Derrek Cooper, Vodney Cleveland, James Johnson, and Samari Matthews.

Although the Longhorns have their work cut out for themselves, things are trending in the right direction. After an unofficial visit to Austin, he wasted little time making plans for a return. Now it is up to Steve Sarkisian and his coaching staff to show Martine why his future should include a stint with Texas over LSU.
