Auburn football’s 2027 recruiting has changed, mostly for the better, over the last month. However, it experienced a loss on Monday as one of its blue-chip pledges has switched gears and will now play for an SEC rival.
Kingston Miles committed to Auburn earlier this month following a visit to the Plains. Now, his plans have changed. Miles has now committed to Missouri, his home-state school, becoming the Missouri Tigers‘ fourth-highest rated commitment. With the switch-up, Missouri is now No. 25 in 247Sports’ 2027 rankings.
Miles’ de-commitment from Auburn stems from three-star running back Khamoni Williams’ commitment to Auburn on Sunday. Williams flipped from West Virginia to Auburn following a weekend visit, which gave Auburn three running backs for its 2027 class. Miles, who had been rumored to flip to Missouri over the last week, saw Williams’ commitment as a way out.
Despite losing the four-star running back, Auburn remains No. 9 in 247Sports’ recruiting rankings for 2027 with 21 commitments. Myles Johnson-Cook, a fellow running back, remains the Tigers’ top pledge with a composite score of 0.9791.
Auburn will now await the commitment of three-star wide receiver Cedrick Simmons, who is set to decide between Auburn and Alabama on Tuesday.
