As the Texas Longhorns continue to add to their 2027 class, one position they have already made moves at is wide receiver. In November, they secured a commitment from one of the nation's best recruits, Easton Royal. While the New Orleans native is still taking visits, he provided the Longhorns with an encouraging update.

When asked about his commitment earlier this month, Royal made it clear that Austin is where he wants to be. Although he didn't rule out visiting other schools, he still sees the Longhorns as the best place for him to play college football.

“I won’t cut relationships off, and I will take visits, but Texas is the school that feels right for me," Royal told Rivals Reporter Chad Simmons.

Currently, the Longhorns commit is ranked as the fourth-best wide receiver in his class by 247Sports. They also rank him as the 24th-best player in the nation and the third-best player from Louisiana. That is partly why he has received offers from some of the top programs in the country.

During the recruiting process, Royal has received offers from Auburn, Baylor, Boston College, LSU, Florida, and Tennessee. That list could continue to grow since Royal said that he will not stop taking visits. Luckily for Texas, his commitment has not wavered.

If another program is unable to flip Royal, he will arrive on campus with high expectations. He has been a human highlight reel for Brother Martin High. As a sophomore, Royal recorded  1,149 all-purpose yards while finding the end zone 14 times. That performance helped put him on the Longhorns radar.

Over the next few months, Royal will be a prospect to watch as more programs inquire about his services. If the Longhorns can continue to keep their relationship with the elite wide receiver strong, then it seems like they have a good shot at keeping him.
