Tennessee football will play Kennesaw State without at least two defensive linemen and two running backs.
Defensive linemen Daevin Hobbs and Nathan Robinson were not in uniform during pregame warm-ups. Both left UT's 45-24 win over Georgia Tech on Sept. 12 due to what appeared to be minor injuries. Hobbs later returned to the lineup in that game.
Running backs Javin Gordon and Justin Baker also were not in unform during warm-ups. Gordon suffered an apparent leg injury against Georgia Tech and did not return. Baker wore a wrap on his hand after partially blocking a punt in that game.
Their absence should put a greater workload on starter DeSean Bishop, sophomore Daune Morris and potentially other reserves.
The 14th-ranked Vols (2-0) play Kennesaw State (1-1) on Sept. 19 (7:45 p.m. ET, SEC Network) at Neyland Stadium.
This is Tennessee's first game without tight end Ethan Davis, who suffered torn ACL in the Georgia Tech game. Sophomore DaSaahn Brame is expected to pick up a lot of his playing time.
Davis is the fifth UT player to suffer a season-ending injury, joining starting safety Edrees Farooq (knee), backup receiver Joakim Dodson (leg), reserve linebacker Jaedon Harmon (knee) and Miami transfer cornerback Jadais Richard (upper-body).
