The FSU Seminoles have found some success on the recruiting trail recently, landing five commitments over the past six days. They had a chance to keep it going on Friday with four-star edge target Jabarrius Garror making his commitment, but they were unable to make it happen.
Instead, he is headed to the SEC, committing to the Texas Longhorns on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel. The Mobile, Alabama, native was also considering the Auburn Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs. He was previously committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Garror was one of FSU's highest-ranked uncommitted targets and someone who could have elevated their 2027 recruiting class, which currently has 10 commitments. He is ranked as the No. 110 overall player and No. 12 edge rusher in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 4 player from Alabama.
The Seminoles were the first school to offer Garror a scholarship, extending him one back in January of 2024, and hosted him on numerous visits since then. They were never able to get him to Tallahassee for an official visit, with him taking one to Texas last weekend before announcing he would be committing on Friday and picking the Longhorns.
Missing out on Garror is a blow to FSU's recruiting class, but they do have four-star edge Anthony Cavallaro already committed. They are also in the mix for five-star edge Abraham Sesay, but appear to be on the outside looking in. They are the favorite for three-star edge Jaxon Holly, who is currently officially visiting the Seminoles.
