Florida State football (5-5, 2-5 ACC) will be without its starting cornerback, Ja’Bril Rawls, for the remainder of the season due to an injury, as head coach Mike Norvell confirmed during his Monday press conference.
Rawls sustained the injury at Clemson on Nov. 8 and was ruled out against Virginia Tech on Saturday. The sophomore DB has been the breakout star in the secondary for the Seminoles. In seven games, he produced 40 tackles, which is second on the team, two pass deflections, one interception, and one fumble recovery.
With the loss of Rawls, FSU will lean toward freshman cornerback Shamar Arnoux to start in his place. Arnoux made his first start in a win against VA Tech. He recorded three tackles. He has played in all nine games and recorded 11 total tackles and one pass deflection.
To begin their two-game road trip, the Seminoles are on a short week as they take on North Carolina State (5-5, 2-4) on Friday at 8 p.m. If victorious, FSU will be bowl eligible for the first time since 2023.
