The staff changes continue for Florida State football as the Seminoles are set to hire Kam Martin as the next running back coach, according to reports.
Martin comes to Tallahassee after spending last season as Tulsa’s associate head coach and running backs coach. He spent two seasons working under Gus Malzahn at UCF as a running back coach, and he also played for Malzahn at Auburn.
He started his coaching career at Incarnate Word in 2022.
Martin helped coach RJ Harvey, the UCF standout running back, to consecutive seasons of over 1,400 rushing yards. At Tulsa, Martin oversaw Dominic Richardson, who rushed for 1,065 yards this season. FSU has not had a 1,000-yard rusher since Cam Akers in 2019.
With the hire, Martin becomes the third staffer to join the program. He replaces David Johnson, who took a running back coach role at Arkansas.
