The first week of the transfer portal window is nearly complete, and Florida State football has already made a splash.
The Seminoles have secured nine commitments, highlighted by former Auburn quarterback Ashton Daniels, who is expected to lead the offense next season.
But the work isn’t done.
Several prospects have either visited or plan to visit before making their decisions. Here’s where things stand heading into the weekend.
Treyaun Webb visits FSU football
Running back Treyaun Webb made his official visit on Thursday. The 5-foot-11, 217-pound Jacksonville native spent three seasons at Florida, primarily as a backup and special teams contributor.
Webb totaled 256 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 47 carries during his career. Injuries sidelined him for the 2024 season, and he missed all of 2025 after hamstring surgery in August.
If he joins FSU, Webb would add depth to a backfield that includes Quintrevion Wisner, Ousmane Kromah,Samuel Singleton Jr., and incoming freshman Amari Thomas.
Auburn offensive tackle narrows down between FSU and Kentucky
Former Auburn offensive tackle Xavier Chaplin wrapped up his visit Thursday. The 6-foot-7, 348-pound lineman is deciding between FSU and Kentucky.
Chaplin started every game for Auburn last season, earning a 56.6 grade from Pro Football Focus and allowing just three sacks. He previously started at Virginia Tech, where he earned All-ACC honorable mention and third-team All-America honors.
Ranked No. 7 among tackles and No. 67 overall in the portal by 247Sports, Chaplin would reunite with former Auburn teammates Bradyn Joiner and Daniels if he chooses FSU.
FSU still needs help on defense
While the Seminoles have bolstered their offense, defensive help remains a pressing need. So far, FSU has added only two defensive transfers: South Alabama defensive back Nehemiah Chandler and Texas A&M edge rusher Rylan Kennedy.
Pittsburgh linebacker Rasheem Biles canceled his planned visit to FSU and instead visited Michigan. USC linebacker Matai Tagoa’i visited Tuesday but recorded just four tackles and a forced fumble as a freshman.
With players like Darryll and Mandrell Desirs and linebacker Juice Cryer expected to enter the portal, FSU needs to make a splash in its front seven before the window closes.
