Florida State faces more questions than arguably any other power conference team entering the 2026 season. Amid that uncertainty, coach Mike Norvell has had a tough time on the recruiting trail.
FSU lost another commitment from a blue-chip prospect on Wednesday as four-star linebacker Gregory Batson, a product of Leesburg, Georgia, decommitted. Batson became the fourth member of the Seminoles' 2027 recruiting class to decommit since May 31, three of whom have been blue-chip players.
Batson, who committed to Florida State in November, officially visited Tallahassee last week. He's set to take an official visit to Mississippi State this weekend.

It hasn't all been bad news for the Seminoles, as they've added four new commitments — including three four-star prospects — over the last two weeks. That brings their 2027 class to nine commits, but Norvell still has some work to do as that group currently ranks outside the top 50 nationally.
