Florida Statelost a commitment from 2028 three-star wide receiver Lamar Garrison early last month. That hasn't stopped them from diligently searching for another.
They have one of the top prospects in the class on their radar. He is four-star edge Cam Toomey out of Saratoga Springs, New York. He took to social media on Monday to announce that he's received a scholarship offer from FSU.
"Extremely blessed to receive an offer from @FSUFootball ‼️," Toomey wrote.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pounder is coming off a pretty impressive sophomore campaign. He finished with 36 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, five sacks, 19 quarterback hurries, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and three blocked field goals. Toomey also contributed on offense with eight receptions for 98 yards and one touchdown as a tight end, and he racked up 77 rushing yards.
Toomey is the No. 44 overall recruit nationally and the No. 5 edge per the 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of New York, he's the No. 1 prospect.
Programs such as Notre Dame, Penn State, and Auburn are amongst Toomey's offers at the moment. Penn State has already hosted him multiple times. With an offer on the table, Florida State will undoubtedly look to lock in its first visit with Toomey as well.
