Florida State has the No. 5 recruiting class in the 2028 cycle. They have four commitments at the moment, but they're still searching for a quarterback. One that they've had their eyes on is Hudson West, who is now a four-star prospect out of Sarasota, Florida.
FSU had West on campus for a camp in June. He also took unofficial game visits to Tallahassee when the Seminoles played the New Mexico State Aggies and the SMU Mustangs to begin the season. He has significant interest from several schools, but Florida State has remained a top contender per Zach Blostein of 247Sports.
Florida is the team to watch for West, who grew up rooting for the Gators. They had him on campus for the Ole Miss game earlier this season and have emerged as the team to beat.
Florida State, Georgia Tech and Cincinnati are some other contenders for West, who could decide this fall.
West is listed as the No. 156 prospect in the country and the No. 11 quarterback according to the 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Florida, he's the No. 17 overall recruit.
After his visit for FSU's season opener, West said he left feeling like a priority.
"That was a pretty big talking point for them," West said last month. "They made it clear that I'm one of their top guys. That was really nice to hear, obviously, but they made it pretty clear."
Quarterback is a position that Florida State hasn't done very well in over the last several years. However, it is a positive sign that they're still heavily in the mix for West.
