FSU's recruiting class ranking after Za'Kari Johnson's commitment

The FSU Seminoles have added another blue-chip defensive player to their 2027 recruiting class, landing a commitment from four-star athlete Za’Kari Johnson on Tuesday.
He was originally a member of the 2028 recruiting class, but recently reclassified, and the Seminoles took advantage. While he has played on both sides of the ball during his high school career, FSU has been recruiting him as a defensive back.
He is their second commitment in the secondary, joining three-star safety Jemari Foreman. They are hoping to make another addition at defensive back this week, with four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole set to make his commitment on Friday. Landing Poole and Johnson would be massive for FSU after they have struggled to attract top talent this offseason.
Johnson is ranked as the No. 349 overall player and No. 21 athlete in the 247Sports composite. The Opa Locka product is also the No. 31 player from Florida.
The Seminoles now have 14 total commitments and the 53rd-best recruiting class in the country according to the 247Sports team rankings. Here is how FSU’s recruiting class compares to the rest of the ACC.
