Quick slant: The Gators are 25-1 against FCS teams dating to 1981, the lone loss a 26-20 defeat by Georgia Southern in 2013. Campbell has already equaled its 2025 win total after going 2-10. The school will receive $525,000 to face Florida in the Swamp as decided underdogs.

About Campbell (2-0):The Camels are vastly improved. After averaging 23.4 points last season, Campbell averages 38.2 behind quarterback Kamden Sixkiller. Receivers Spencer Jones and Evans Austin have combined for 19 catches for 300 yards and two touchdowns. Linebackers Charles Battaglia (17 tackles, forced fumble) and A.J. Benton (14 tackles, sack, two pass break-ups) lead a defense allowing an average of 28 points, down from 37.2 points per game in 2025.

About UF (1-0):The Gators’ offense had its way during a 66-21 win against FAU. Quarterback Aaron Philo accounted for four touchdowns, three of them passing; tailback Jadan Baugh recorded his second straight 100-yard game, dating to last season, with 160 yards and three touchdown on just 14 carries; and receiver Vernell Brown III scored his first collegiate touchdown and finished with a career-high 117 receiving yards. Florida now looks to score 60 points in consecutive weeks for the first time since Steve Spurrier’s Gators beat New Mexico State 70-21 and Kentucky 73-7 to open the 1994 season.

THREE THINGS TO WATCH

1. Next man up at receiver. Eric Singleton Jr.’s ankle injury gives receivers TJ Abrams, Micah Mays and Bailey Stockton a chance for a larger role in the offense. Against FAU, Stockton caught a 12-yard touchdown from Philo, the first time the former high school teammates from Bogart, Georgia, connected for a score in college.

2. Florida’s pass rush. The Gators generated 19 quarterback pressures against FAU, but managed just two sacks against veteran Owls QB Caden Veltkamp.

3. Lesser-known Gators. Third-teamers and walk-ons who won’t otherwise see the field this season should be rewarded with snaps in a one-sided game. A new fan favorite could emerge.
