Gameday Central: Florida State Seminoles vs Clemson Tigers – Previews, predictions, how to watch, odds

Florida State and Clemson will face off tonight in an ACC matchup from Memorial Stadium, Clemson, S.C. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and the game will be televised on the ACCN.

Many are expecting a high-scoring battle featuring two offenses that have demonstrated their ability to move the ball effectively down the field. Both teams are led by experienced quarterbacks who can go off on opposing defenses at any moment during the game. Which defense will be able to stop the other team’s offense more often than not is the question many are asking.

FSU ranks 26th in total defense (317), 33rd in scoring defense (20.6), 30th in rushing defense (114), and 43rd in passing yards allowed (203).

Meanwhile, Clemson’s defense ranks 53rd in total defense (350), T-63rd in scoring defense (24), 20th in rushing defense (106), and 102nd in passing yards allowed (244.5).

Earlier this week, Tomahawk Nation’s Curt Weiler wrote about Florida State’s offense, describing it as one of the best in the nation statistically and highlighting the progress made on the offensive side of the ball compared to last season.

To further emphasize Curt’s point, FSU has the most improved offense compared to last season, showing the largest turnaround in scoring offense, total offense, rushing offense, and 3rd-down conversions. They also have a top-10 turnaround in passing offense and first downs.

The Seminoles are looking to hand the Tigers their first three-game home losing streak since 2001 and to defeat them at home in consecutive games for the first time since that same year.

According to FanDuel, Florida State is a 1.5-point underdog, with the over/under set at 56.5 points.
