Gators soccer returns to United Soccer Coaches top 25 rankings

Following the 3-1 victory over defending NCAA champion Florida State, the Florida Gators made their return to the top 25 of the United Soccer Coaches Week 2 poll, at No. 20 for the first time since the third week of the 2020 season.
Marking 81 consecutive polls without the Orange and Blue making an appearance in the top 25.
Florida's return to the top 25 also has similarities to thirty years ago. In 1996, the Gators made their first appearance in the coaches poll during the program's second season.
The program would rank No. 20 in that poll, which is the same position that they hold currently.
The Gators have been surging in Nick Zimmerman's first season as head coach, securing back-to-back wins and outscoring opponents 9-7 so far this season.
They will look to keep the streak alive at Donald R. Dizney Stadium on Aug. 27 against Jacksonville University.
