Georgia 5-star RB commit Kemon Spell shuts down Miami rumors

The Miami Hurricanes tried to flip the Georgia Bulldogs' top recruit Kemon Spell, according to Rivals. However, Spell has remained steadfast in his commitment to the Bulldogs. He shot down the rumors on social media. "This is not true I'm a Dawg," Spell said.

Spell is a five-star running back from the class of 2027. The 5-foot-9, 205-pound halfback plays high school football for McKeesport High School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He is the No. 1 running back and No. 6 overall recruit in the nation, and he's Georgia's highest-ranked commitment.

Spell committed to the Georgia Bulldogs on Feb. 2, 2026. He was originally committed to the Penn State Nittany Lions, but decommitted after the Nittany Lions fired James Franklin. The Bulldogs have reaped the rewards so far.

The Hurricanes have already stolen a five-star recruit from Georgia in this class. Cornerback Donte Wright flipped from Georgia to Miami on May 9, 2026. Wright is the No. 1 corner and No. 8 recruit in the nation.

Georgia has the No. 9 recruiting class in the nation, with Spell heading the class. They also have five-star tight end Jaxon Dollar, along with four-stars Kennedee Jackson (OT), Jamir Dean (WR), Kelsey Adams (OT), Colton Nussmeier (QB), Seth Williams (S), and Adryan Cole (S), according to 247Sports' database. Jackson and Dean were both flips, with Jackson flipping from Florida and Dean flipping from Penn State.
