Will the Georgia Bulldogs be on the field today in first-round of the College Football Playoff?
After winning the 2025 SEC championship 28-7 against the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia earned the No. 3 seed in the playoff and a bye in the first-round. Georgia will play the winner of the Tulane Green Wave at Ole Miss Rebels game that is being played at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 20.
Georgia’s opening playoff game will be in the quarterfinals. Like last season, Georgia’s first game is the Sugar Bowl. The Bulldogs are looking to have a better result in the playoff after losing to Notre Dame last year. The Sugar Bowl will kickoff at 8 p.m. ET from New Orleans, Louisiana, on Thursday, Jan. 1.
“We’re going to work hard on ourselves, but the coaches will work on the opponent, but I don’t know how much opponent work we’ll do ourselves until we know who it is,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said after learning the Bulldogs would play in the Sugar Bowl.
