Georgia football climbs AP poll rankings

The AP top 25 poll for college football was released on Tuesday, Sept. 8, and the Georgia Bulldogs rose one spot in the rankings. Georgia had a dominant 63-3 win against Tennessee State this past weekend, and they're now ranked No. 2 in the top 25 behind Ohio State who is still No. 1.
In the preseason AP top 25 poll, Georgia was ranked third behind the Oregon Ducks, but after Oregon narrowly beat an unranked Boise State team 34-27, Georgia now gets the second spot, while Oregon drops to No. 6.
Ohio State is still steady as the top-ranked team in the country after defeating Ball State 56-3. These specific rankings are only for Week 1, so things may change as college football enters Week 2. Two SEC teams are in the top five, while another seven round out the rest of the rankings.
Georgia has ranked games against No. 9 Ole Miss, No. 11 Oklahoma, No. 12 Alabama and No. 23 Missouri this season.
