The Georgia Bulldogs have extended offensive coordinator Mike Bobo’s contract following the 2025 college football season. Bobo along with defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann had their contracts extended this offseason. Both Bobo and Schumann are extended through 2028, giving Georgia continuity at the coordinator positions.
Bobo is set to make $2.2 million this season, $2.3 million in 2027 and $2.4 million in 2028. Bobo’s contract was previously set to expire in June, 2027.
Bobo was the only offensive coordinator to be a finalist for the Broyles Award, which is awarded annually to the nation’s top assistant. Indiana defensive coordinator Bryant Haines won the award after helping Indiana win a national title. However, since Bobo was the only offensive coordinator as a finalist, he was considered the nation’s top offensive coordinator.
Bobo, a former Georgia quarterback, has been Georgia’s offensive coordinator since 2023. He took over after Todd Monken left for the Baltimore Ravens. Monken is now the Cleveland Browns’ head coach.
Schumann has served on Kirby Smart’s staff as an inside linebackers coach since the start of the Smart era in 2016. Schumann served as Georgia’s co-defensive coordinator starting in 2019. He was promoted to defensive coordinator for the 2024 season.
Schumann is an excellent recruiting and has kept Georgia’s linebacker room stacked with talent throughout his time at Georgia. The Bulldogs are in good hands at both coordinator spots, but not every UGA fan supports Mike Bobo.
