The Georgia Bulldogs earned a major flip in the 2027 recruiting class. Four-star wide receiver Jamir Dean flipped his commitment from the Penn State Nittany Lions to Georgia, according to Hayes Fawcett. Dean had been committed to the Nittany Lions since May 1.
Dean is a four-star prospect from the class of 2027. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound wide receiver plays high school football, basketball, and runs track for Alcoa High School in Alcoa, Tennessee. He is the No. 18 wide receiver and No. 126 overall prospect in the nation.
Dean earned an offer from Georgia on May 6, five days after his commitment to Penn State. He went on an official visit to Athens on May 29, then took an official visit to Penn State on June 5. Georgia had slowly started to change his mind, and today, that comes to fruition.
Penn State falls to the No. 17 class in the nation following Dean’s decommitment. They still have five four-stars, including wide receiver Landon Blum, but the loss of Dean stings. Georgia has the No. 13 class in the nation, and their crown jewel, five-star running back Kemon Spell, was a Penn State decommit.
Georgia’s earned a ton of good recruiting news in June, just like last year. They flipped four-star offensive tackle Kennedee Jackson from Florida, and four-star linebacker Joakim Gouda and four-star quarterback Colton Nussmeier committed earlier in the month. Three-star edge Olayiwola Taiwo committed in June as well. Overall, it’s looking like another June to remember for Georgia.
