Georgia football picks up in state pair of three-stars for 2027 class

Georgia football picked up a three-star pair in edge rusher Olayiwola “Gideon” Taiwo and linebacker Joakim Gouda on Monday.

Taiwo is a rising senior at Lovejoy standing at 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds. Gouda is a rising senior at McEachern standing at 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds.

The Wildcats in Hampton, Ga., have gone 20-14 in Taiwo’s three years at Lovejoy with a second-round state playoff run in 2023 and back-to-back first round state appearances in 2024 and 2025. His stats are not on MaxPreps.

Taiwo chose Georgia over Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest, as well as a plethora offers from other Division I and Division II institutions.

Taiwo is the first edge rusher pick up, 11th commitment overall, for Georgia’s class of 2027.
