Georgia football has had its share of marquee home matchups in recent years.

Tenth-ranked Texas visiting the No. 5 Bulldogs for a prime-time game Saturday Nov. 15 certainly joins the list.

Monroe Freeling already has experienced it against Alabama this season and Tennessee last year in Sanford Stadium.

“It’s exhilarating, awesome,” the Bulldogs left tackle said. “I can use so many words to describe it. You only get so many opportunities to go out there and play in Sanford. For it being a night game and getting to play Texas at home, we haven’t seen them at home yet, it’s awesome. I love playing in that stadium. I’m looking forward to having that environment.”

Texas has already played in hostile environments at Ohio State (before 107,524) and Florida (90,714), games the Longhorns lost.

“They’re going to be yelling,” wide receiver Parker Livingtone said. “They’re going to do everything in their power to stop us. I heard it’s a great, great stadium, great fans.”

Georgia won both games last season in Austin and in the SEC championship game in Atlanta.

“I don’t think it’s like a revenge game at all,” Texas running back CJ Baxter said. “I’m super excited to play in this game against a bunch of other great players. It’s an NFL game. That’s what it is.”

Said Georgia tight end Oscar Delp: “They’ve got a good team. They’ve got a physical defense. I think we’ve got a physical offense so it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

4:43 p.m. No SEC championship spots clinched today after all

Georgia looked to be in pretty good shape to have a chance to clinch an SEC championship spot with a win tonight when Texas A&M trailed South Carolina 30-3 at halftime. The Aggies fought back to win 31-30.

So there will be no SEC team clinching a spot in the championship game until Thanksgiving weekend, per the SEC’s Chuck Dunlap.
