Georgia football will stripe Sanford Saturday. How to check what to wear

Georgia football fans heading to Sanford Stadium for the Bulldogs' matchup with Oklahoma on Saturday, Sept. 26, will have a little extra homework before kickoff.

A Stripe Sanford event is planned for the game, with fans in different sections asked to wear specific colors to create a stripe pattern throughout the stadium.

Georgia will host Oklahoma at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens.

What is Stripe Sanford?

The Stripe Sanford concept is designed to create a large stripe pattern across the stadium, with sections of fans wearing red, white and black.

The look is intended to resemble the stripe featured on Georgia football's silver britches. The stripe has also become a recognizable part of Georgia football imagery, including the black-and-red striping around the 20-yard lines at Dooley Field.

Although the University of Georgia Athletics website has published information about the event and its seating map, UGA's page says Stripe Sanford is an independent, fan-driven event created by Georgia fans and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the University of Georgia or its athletic programs.

When does Georgia play Oklahoma?

The Bulldogs will face the Oklahoma Sooners at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at Sanford Stadium in Athens.

The game is the first time Oklahoma will visit Athens, according to Georgia Athletics. It is also only the second meeting between the programs. Georgia won the previous matchup, beating Oklahoma 54-48 in double overtime in the 2017 College Football Playoff semifinal.

The 2026 matchup is a Southeastern Conference game and is currently listed as sold out by Georgia Athletics.
