The top running back in the nation has his eyes set on Athens.
Kemon Spell, a five-star junior running back, announced on Monday that he has committed to Georgia. This ends a saga in which he decommitted from Penn State following the firing of James Franklin, though considered re-committing to the Nittany Lions in addition to the rest of his top five in Ohio State, Miami and Notre Dame.
Georgia won him over. He posted to social media platform X a message with “Go Dawgs,” and Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett tweeted a graphic confirming Spell chose Georgia over the other schools in his top five.

Spell was named the ALL‑USA East Football Team Offensive Player of the Year this past season after dominating despite missing five games due to injury. In just nine games, he rushed for 1,755 yards and 28 touchdowns to go with six receptions for 114 yards and a score, as well as three touchdowns on a combined 11 kick and punt returns. He rushed for 331 yards for McKeesport (Penn.) in the state semifinal game.
At 5-foot-9 and 205 pounds, Spell is ranked the No. 7 player on the 247Sports Composite and the No. 1 running back. Entering his senior year, he is only 47 yards away from reaching the 4,000-yard career rushing mark.
Georgia is now up to six hard commits in the class of 2027, three of which are top-100 players on 247Sports’ rankings (Spell, CB Donte Wright, OT Kelsey Adams). The Bulldogs rank sixth among all programs’ recruiting classes.
