Georgia, Kirby Smart Receive 'Amazing' Message From Top OL Target

The Georgia Bulldogs continue to build momentum on the 2027 recruiting trail as spring visits keep bringing several top prospects to UGA’s campus.

One of the program’s top offensive line targets, Central Catholic’s Jimmy Kalis, has spent multiple days in Athens recently, getting a full look at the program’s overall structure.

According to DawgNation, the visit included time with Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs’ offensive line staff, along with a detailed behind-the-scenes experience that allowed the recruit to evaluate development and culture.

After the trip, per On3’s Steve Wiltfong, the highly regarded prospect made his feelings about the Bulldogs clear.

“My time in Georgia was amazing,” Kalis said. “Georgia keeps attracting me back because Georgia is different and being recruited by Georgia is a surreal feeling. Coach Smart is an elite coach and I can see myself playing for him.”

Kalis, a four-star offensive tackle from Pittsburgh, included Georgia among his finalists, along with Clemson, LSU, Miami, Ohio State, Texas and Penn State.

The OT recruit doubled down on his message by posting about the visit on social media, writing, “Had an AMAZING visit @GeorgiaFootball #GoDawgs 🐶” while tagging a few college football reporters, as well as a plethora of Georgia and Central Catholic coaches.

Kalis’ latest visit to Georgia appears to have strengthened the program’s position in the race to land him significantly.

“Georgia is very high on my board now,” Kalis said. “The love there feels real and genuine. Their standard is very high, and they compete every day to make their o-line better.”

Kalis is scheduled to return to Georgia for an official visit from May 15–17, while the Bulldogs keep working on a 2027 recruiting class that already includes seven hard commits, per 247Sports.
