The Georgia Bulldogs lost out on a big-time linebacker recruit. Four-star LB Isaac McNeil has committed to Auburn, according to Hayes Fawcett. He chose Auburn over Georgia and Florida.

McNeil is a four-star prospect from the class of 2027. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker plays high school football and track and field for Vigor High School in Mobile, Alabama. He is the No. 6 linebacker prospect and No. 87 overall prospect in the nation.

In Auburn head coach Alex Golesh’s first recruiting season, he’s done a solid job. Auburn’s class ranks No. 19 in the nation and No. 5 in the SEC. They don’t have a five-star in this class yet, but they’ve earned five four-stars and 14 commitments overall.

Georgia, meanwhile, has the No. 23 recruiting class in the nation and No. 7 in the SEC. They just earned their own big-time linebacker commit in four-star Joakim Gouda. Still, they have only 12 commits so far. Even with five-star running back Kemon Spell, Georgia’s class is far from the typical top-10 Georgia classes fans have been accustomed to in the Kirby Smart era.
