Georgia playmaker named as NFL draft breakout

Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox created a list of seven 2027 NFL Draft prospects that could breakout during the 2026 college football season. One of which was Georgia Bulldogs tight end Lawson Luckie.

Luckie is a former four-star recruit in the class of 2023, ranked as the No. 2 tight end in the country. He committed to the Bulldogs in 2022. In his freshman season, he totaled two receptions for nine yards, logging those stats against Florida State and Mississippi.

In his sophomore season in 2024, he started to showcase more of his talent, accumulating 24 catches for 348 yards and three touchdowns. One of his better games was against UMass on November 23, where he caught four passes for 60 yards. As a junior in 2025, his yards decreased a bit to 158, but he was still able to put up four touchdowns.

In 2026, Luckie can be more of a focal point in the offense, now that former Bulldog tight end Oscar Delp is in the NFL, playing for the New Orleans Saints. Georgia does well at using the tight end in both the run and passing game. Now, Luckie has the opportunity to be more a go-to guy in the Georgia offense and a prime target for quarterback Gunner Stockton.

The Bulldogs have great tight ends in recent memory, like NFL star tight end Brock Bowers, Delp, and others. Luckie will look to be the next great Georgia tight end to be drafted.
