Georgia QB Commit Jared Curtis Moves in New Player Rankings

Led by first-year starter Gunner Stockton, the No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs (9-1) seem to be well on their way to making the College Football Playoff for the second straight year.

While Stockton’s time behind center in Athens is far from finished, Bulldogs fans are eager to watch what many view as his successor, in 2026, five-star commit Jared Curtis. Barring a flip to Vanderbilt, which is more and more of a possibility as signing day approaches, Curtis is on pace to be Georgia’s second-highest rated quarterback recruit in program history. He also seemed to have a chance to be Georgia’s first-ever No. 1 overall recruit until Wednesday’s rankings update by 247Sports.

As revealed on Wednesday, Houston commit Keisean Henderson jumped both Curtis and Tennessee’s five-star quarterback commit, Faizon Brandon, for the top spot. With that being said, Curtis did move up from the No. 11 recruit in the country to the No. 3 recruit in the country.

Regardless of his ranking, 247Sports’ Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins made it clear that Curtis will be ready to play from the moment he enrolls.

“Curtis is the most ready-to-play quarterback at the top of the board as he heads to college with more than 1,000 career pass attempts,” Ivins wrote. “He hasn’t faced the stiffest competition at Nashville (Tenn.) Christian, but he silenced plenty of critics earlier this year when he accounted for 323 yards of total offense and five touchdowns against an Ensworth defense that featured multiple FBS prospects.”

Curtis is one of two five-stars and one of six top 100 recruits in Georgia’s class that ranks No. 3 in the country. Needless to say, the hopes for him in Athens may be as high as any signee in recent memory.
