Georgia QB Commit Jared Curtis News Emerges Amid College Football Season

The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs moved to 7-1 this past weekend after a 24-20 win over the Florida Gators, as they look to continue to position themselves as one of the best teams in the country. Leading the charge for Georgia was quarterback Gunner Stockton, who completed 20-of-29 passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns.

Stockton, who is a former four-star recruit and junior out of Tiger, Georgia has emerged as the next star quarterback from the Bulldogs, but there is already another name at signal caller that Bulldog fans are chomping at the bit to see.

Headlining Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class, which is ranked as the No. 2 class in 247Sports’ rankings, is five-star quarterback Jared Curtis. The Nashville native ranks as the No. 1 quarterback in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, committing back in May after initially backing off his earlier pledge last October.

Although Stockton is expected by most to return next season for what would be his second year as the starter, Georgia fans can’t help but be excited about the future. Especially when Curtis continues to rack up honors before he arrives in Athens.

As shared to Instagram by Nashville Christian, the future Georgia quarterback was named a semifinalist for the 2025 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards, an annual ceremony that recognizes the best high school football players in nine classifications of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association.

“Congratulations to Jared Curtis on being named a semifinalist for the Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Award,” read the post. “Jared’s performance and leadership throughout this season have had a significant impact on our program and team culture.”

While schools like Oregon and Vanderbilt have made pushes to land Curtis, there hasn’t been any indication he won’t be ending up in Athens.

He may have to wait a year or so to see the field, but Georgia won back-to-back titles in 2021-22 with a quarterback who waited his turn in Stetson Bennett, so maybe it’s not the worst thing.
