Georgia football was upset by Auburn 27-24 Saturday in Sanford Stadium on a day when there was plenty of blame to go around.

No group exceeded expectations.

Others raised fresh questions heading into an open week on the schedule.

Here's our postgame report card for the Bulldogs.

Offense grade: C-

Gunner Stockton threw his second interception in as many weeks on a pass to London Humphreys with 1:04 to go in the first half and had a costly fumble that allowed Auburn to get a game-winning field goal. Ryan Puglisi completed 3-of-3 passes for 55 yards during a medical check on Stockton on the first drive. Georgia punted on two straight series in the first half including on a 3-and-out and lost despite 440 yards of total offense.

Defense grade: C

Georgia’s secondary was fooled on a 24-yard trick-play touchdown pass. The Bulldogs seemed to miss KJ Bolden on a day when Byrum Brown rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown and threw for 150 yards and a touchdown. Back-to-back three-and-outs in the second half were big and that was followed by forcing two more punts.

Special teams grade: D

Gunner Stockton had to rush onto the field to hold for a 54-yard field goal try after going to the sideline and then had what looked like a bad hold on the Peyton Woodring field goal try that was blocked. Drew Miller had a 25-yard punt when Georgia had a chance to pin Auburn deep. and averaged 36 yards on 3 punts. Sacovie White-Helton muffed a punt that Georgia recovered and had 7 yards on 3 returns.

Coaching grade: D

Georgia went four straight offensive possessions without a point to end the first half. Give credit for Puglisi being well-prepared and Mike Bobo not missing a beat with Stockton briefly sidelined. Georgia did not come up with a winning game plan for Byrum Brown.

Game MVP: Dwight Phillips

The junior rushed for 71 yards on 10 carries and had two catches for 22 yards. Auburn’s defense was stout otherwise holding Nate Frazier to 19 yards on nine carries.

Overall Grade: D

Georgia lost on its home field to a 19-point underdog and had self-inflicted wounds with three Gunner Stockton turnovers. Georgia seemed out of synch for much of the first half and had costly penalties including a late hit on Josh Horton when Auburn would have had a third-and-long.
