Georgia Running Back Room Receives Wild Bold Prediction Ahead of Season

The Georgia Bulldogs are headed into the season looking to get things back on track and make a deep run in the College Football Playoff and potentially even a run at their first national title since 2022.

Unfortunately for Georgia, despite coming off two straight SEC Championship victories, they have been unable to carry that momentum into the postseason with no playoff wins the last three years. Regardless, this team looks to be in some great shape going into 2026 with a lot to like about the roster.

The wide receiver group is a fair question mark, but with another year of experience under Gunner Stockton's belt, the passing game should be just fine. It's the rushing attack which may not be getting enough love though between a dynamic room and one of the best offensive lines in the country.

DawgNation's Connor Riley has a very bold prediction on what the unit could be capable of accomplishing this year, going out on the limb and saying that the Bulldogs will have two 1,000 yard rushers for the first time since 2018 in Nate Frazier and Chauncey Bowens both having huge years.

Georgia Predicted to Have Two 1,000 Yard Rushers

"I think that Georgia is gonna have not one but two 1,000 yard rushers…I think that Nate Frazier and Chauncey Bowens are both gonna get there," Riley said. "I think they have talked a lot about explosiveness and the need to create more explosive plays. A lot of people assume that means to the passing game, I think you need to see that more in the running game."

The Bulldogs have not had multiple 1,000 yard rushers since 2018 as Riley pointed out when D'Andre Swift and Elijah Holyfield were able to both eclipse that elusive mark in an offense that was very much run first. While that team is not the mark of success given they did not make the College Football Playoff and lost their bowl game to Texas, that kind of physicality is something Georgia would love to get back to this year.

With Gunner Stockton factoring in the run game as well, having two 1,000 yard rushers feels a little bit unlikely, but if the Bulldogs can once again become a team that runs the ball at will, it would mean some huge things for this offense and take a whole lot of pressure off Stockton's arm.

Frazier and Bowens both have a chance to have a great year, and if Riley's prediction were to come true, this Georgia offense could prove to be one of the most efficient in all of college football.
