The Georgia Bulldogs are headed into the 2026 season looking to figure out how they can right the wrongs of the last three years and not only get back to the College Football Playoff, but win a national title.
As is always the case, things start within the conference when it comes to getting to the postseason, and the Bulldogs are going to have to navigate their way through an SEC schedule which of course is always going to be tough.
In terms of their opponents within the conference, things get off to a very interesting start on the road this year, taking on an opponent they have not seen in years now with a road trip to Fayetteville, Arkansas on deck to take on the Razorbacks.
The Dawgs have not faced Arkansas since 2021 and only 16 times throughout the history of each program, but it will present a unique challenge on the road.
Arkansas Fans Will Be Loud, Even in Early Slot
Controversially, this is a game that will be played at 11:00 a.m. local time in Fayetteville, something which could work to Georgia's advantage for a road game. Still, this is one of the most passionate fanbases in the country and they are going to show up and be loud no matter what.
In terms of what kind of football team they are actually going to put on the field, that looks like another question.
Under a new first year head coach in Ryan Silverfield who arrives to Arkansas via Memphis, there's a wide range of outcomes as to what this team's ceiling is in the 2026 season.
Expected to start KJ Jackson at quarterback, who backed up Taylen Green last year, it's a completely new look for the Razorbacks. On paper, this is supposed to be one of the weaker opponents in the conference and Georgia should be able to handle them with relative ease.
This game is not played on paper though, and on the road in this conference, anything can certainly happen. Arkansas will be coming off a late road game at Utah the week prior, which could give fans headed into the Georgia game a better idea as to what kind of team this could be.
Even if they get smoked though, Kirby Smart must have these Bulldogs ready to go, because these are SEC athletes on the other sideline. It will be a fun start to the season, and one that should end with a victory for Georgia.
